While Paul Blart has already been in theatres for 12 days now, an eternity for movies, I felt compelled to say it's not as bad as most critics argue. While this movie suffers from an over the top and predictable plot, average guy saves day and gets girl, it did manage to pull off a few good laughs; due in full part to Kevin James. James makes me laugh where most other comedians fail: physical comedy. Especially the karaoke scene.
Although, I would have preferred this movie geared more laughs toward adults. Did the credit card number stealing bandits really have to be trained in a ninja dojo? At the risk of sounding trite, this is a charming movie that caters laughs to all ages. While "the little engine that could" connotation is not very original, this movies take on it is pretty funny. Paul Blart sends a positive message to kids and hypoglycemics everywhere: The insecure, hypoglycemic mall cop who garners no respect on his job, has everything come together for him in one day.
2.5/5
P.S. I apoligise if I have offended any hypoglycemics or ninjas.
